INTERESTS

My expertise is in citrus horticulture with emphasis in irrigation, mineral nutrition, and horticultural practices. My specialties include, but are not limited to, precision irrigation using soil moisture sensors, ebb-and-flow subirrigation for citrus nursery production, and tools to improve plant production such as irrigation management, plant nutrition, performance variety trials, and enhanced cultural practices. Research in my lab focuses on developing low-cost open-source microcontrollers and new technologies for citrus production to enhance fresh grapefruit production in the Indian River District. I am also interested in hydroponics, aquaponics and sustainable agriculture.
